Frequently Asked Questions

how long are sessions?

Sessions are 50 minutes long

what are your rates?

My current rates are $300 for individual therapy and $350 for couples and families.

do you take insurance?

I run an insurance-friendly practice. While I do not directly take insurance, many clients use superbills to seek reimbursement for therapy sessions.

do you offer a consultation?

Yes. I offer a free 15-minute phone or Zoom consultation so you can ask questions, learn more about my approach, and get a feel for whether we would be a good fit.

how do i know if we’re a good fit?

Therapy fit matters. You may be a strong fit if you are looking for a therapist who is warm, thoughtful, emotionally attuned, and practical, and if you want support understanding patterns around anxiety, food and body image, mood, or relationships.

do i have to be in crisis to start therapy?

Not at all. Many people start therapy because they feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, self-critical, or exhausted from patterns they have been carrying alone for a long time. You do not need to be at your worst for support to be helpful.

do you offer virtual therapy in california?

Yes. I currently offer all sessions via telehealth for clients located in California. Virtual therapy can be a flexible and effective option if you want support from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

what issues do you specialize in?

I specialize in working with adults navigating eating disorders, anxiety, mood-related struggles, and relationship or interpersonal issues. Many of my clients are high-achieving, self-aware, and struggling with patterns that may not be obvious to others.

what is your approach to therapy?

My approach is relational, compassionate, insight-oriented, and practical. I draw from psychodynamic therapy, CBT, DBT, emotionally focused work, trauma-informed approaches, and family systems to support meaningful and lasting change.

what can i expect from the first session?

The first session is a space for us to begin understanding what brings you in, what feels most important right now, and what you hope for from therapy. You do not need to prepare perfectly. We simply start where you are.

can virtual therapy still feel personal and effective?

Yes. For many clients, virtual therapy feels deeply supportive, consistent, and surprisingly natural once we begin. It can also make it easier to fit therapy into an already full life.
